WFWP Brazil

Since WFWP's inauguration in Brazil in 1992, we have carried projects ranging from family reconstruction to AIDS education. A group of 120 volunteers from Japan helped build the early foundation for our reach throughout the country.

Education is a key aspect of our work. We hold a monthly gathering where women who have important roles in the education of young people can meet and share. One of our most successful initiatives has been our lecture series "AIDS and True Family," which has been given in many schools all over Brazil.

We provide several solutions to reconciliation and healing. Our local sisterhood ceremonies brought 1,800 Brazilian and Japanese women together. We believe that when women see each other and work together as sisters, men stop fighting. Also, for the past 12 years, our annual "Feast of Nations" has provided a space where the diverse cultures and ethnicities of Brazil can share in the unique aspects of their communities.

Our humanitarian efforts have included providing Christmas gifts for children from needy families, food drives for orphanages and blood drives.
