Foster Children Program (WFWP Cambodia)

Written by: WFWP Cambodia

WFWP Cambodia visited foster children in Takeo on April 2, 2022. For our Takeo program, we’ve been cooperating with a national organization called Reach Sei Association since the pandemic. Activities, especially during the pandemic, required supervision by the authorities. We acknowledged diligent students with good school records and asked them to share how they study with all other foster children. Reach Sei reached out to a national TV and our program was featured on television! This visit was sponsored by WFWP Japan and WFWP USA.

On April 6, WFWP Cambodia held a craft-making activity in Kratie, in addition to delivering monetary donation. Like some other countries along the Mekong River, Cambodia has its own New Year in April. Children made a new year greeting card, following the customs of their foster parents’ countries in the U.S and in Japan. Being able to hold paper, cut with scissors and pasting with glue is not a common activity in rural areas. While crafting art, the children had a great time. This activity and donation was sponsored by WFWP USA and the WFWP Yamaguchi District (WFWP Japan)
