Peace is in the hopes of every individual and every society. Throughout the ages, people have tried to secure peace with forceful methods, driven by a cautious self-protection and the mistrust of the other. There is a need of a balance to this; understanding, healing and serving the other will allow trust and communication. Women are able to open ways for a sustainable peace, peace based on a win - win situation.
There is no one way to peace. Like in a family the father’s way and the mother’s way combined bring harmony in the home, on a larger world scale, women need to be entrusted the task of peace-building on an equal terms with men.
“Middle East Peace Entrusted to Women”
This virtual conference will bring together women from various professions and social activists, concerned by the peace and prosperity of their countries and the region. We look very much forward to two days of very informative presentations and an exciting discussion.
It will deal with the peace issues of the different areas of the Middle East: the Gulf, North Africa, Lebanon, Cyprus, Israel and Palestine and Afghanistan.
