Nourishing Change: Women as Catalysts for Food Security, Economic Development, and Climate ResilienceCurrent statistics indicate that women and girls are disproportionately affected by poverty, with 70% of the world's poor being women. Grounded in the framework of the 68th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68), our Parallel Event seeks to bridge critical gaps in our approach to gender equality by addressing the intricate connections between poverty, climate change, and women's empowerment. Panelists will provide expert insights on the leadership capacity of women as catalysts in transforming food systems and achieving food security, economic development, and climate resilience. Through discussion and dialogue, we hope to move towards accountability, policy implementation, and collaboration in empowering women in the context of “the Right to a Clean, Healthy and Sustainable Environment.”
WFWPI, in collaboration with the Women’s Consortium of Nigeria and SPARK Philippines, aims to foster collaboration and innovative solutions, to contribute to the economic development and well-being of women and girls worldwide.
