In commemoration of the United Nations Day and building on the hopeful synergy of the SDG Summit, Women’s Federation for World Peace International (WFWPI), in partnership with Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Always Forward and Kean University will host a multi-sectoral dialogue to strengthen trust, solidarity, accountability and create a space where inspiration can turn into implementation.
Conflicts and climate change have exposed the fragility of human security and food systems. As a way to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs, WFWPI and its partners will host a forum highlighting shared goals and practices to ensure sustainable peace, food security and building multi-sectoral mobilization.
This interactive forum will explore soft power peace approaches as well as holistic and nature-based solutions to the intersecting challenges to health, food security and migration. We hope to inspire the government and civil society to address these problems with concrete actions that are easily applicable at many levels. This includes multi-sectoral collaboration for climate adaptation initiatives such as growing one’s own food and community peace gardens - showcasing permaculture as a universal, hopeful and regenerative model to create peaceful communities, food security and planetary healing.
