This Leadership Training Course is designed specifically for our national chapters' leaders, aiming to empower them with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective project planning and implementation. Mrs. Merly Christina Barlaan

Merly is a peace and environment advocate with over 25 years of service to WFWPI and the UN civil society community. Her best practices on community development framework have driven transformative programs empowering youth, women, and communities, including Mothers’ Hearts Network, the Asia Pacific Peace Education Center, and the Young Global Women Peace Ambassadors. Currently serving WFWPI as the Vice President for Administration and Deputy Director for WFWPI’s UN Relations office, and leading WFWPI’s UN advocacy team in New York. She mentors young professionals and was the Convenor of the Beijing+30 Working Group on Environment, NGO CSW Geneva Civil Society Consultation in 2024. Merly holds a bachelor’s in Education and is pursuing a master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies at HJI School for Peace and Public Leadership in New York City.

Dr. Paris Moon

Paris has worked for international companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Nortel Networks, Seiko Epson, and Microsoft. Her primary responsibilities included mergers and acquisitions, HR common benefits, and strategic workforce planning. In cultural and public affairs, she has worked closely with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in South Korea to promote Korean culture in Hong Kong since 2007 and has served as an external examiner for the Hong Kong Arts Development Council since 2011. From 2019 to 2021, she served as President of the Korean Women's International Network in Hong Kong. She has received the "Best Outstanding Korean International Women Award" and the “Certificate of Appreciation" from the Minister of Gender Equality and Family of Korea. She obtained her doctorate degree in Arts and Cultural Management from Middlesex University, UK. Paris has served as President of WFWP in Hong Kong and is currently the International Secretary General of WFWPI
