Self-employment has been blossoming over the past decade. In the webinar, WFWP would like to introduce women entrepreneurs who evaluated their ideas for a successful business. Panelists will present their best practice successes and the decision-making processes that have contributed to effectively tackling the enormous crisis in their diverse areas of responsibility.
Speakers
Dr. Beatrice Bischof is a consultant, PR and marketing expert, and journalist with a focus on international policy, interdisciplinary innovation and exchange, digitalization, and sustainability. She attended Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. Her areas of study were political sciences, constitutional law, and literature sciences, and holds a Ph.D. in economic and social history. She is a member of the Managing Board of the Foreign Affairs Association in Munich and a columnist for “The European” of the Weimer Media Group. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cavalla International University in Minnesota, USA. She is also a board member of EUTECH, The European Technology Chamber in Tech Commission, and a German consultant of Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub in Dubai. Her special project is the PETS A Foreign Policy Ecosystem Approach. It was created to give answers to the burning questions about the future of work and education. The educational model used is the Agri-Entrepreneurship Hub for Africa with Cavalla International University. Her proposal for a peace project in the Korean Peace Zone is a women's entrepreneurship factory for cultural goods such as gimmes and ginseng according to PETS A Foreign Policy Ecosystem Approach.
Mrs. Beatrice Ochotorena is an emergency rural attendance nurse by profession. She is also a farmer and passionate about healthy, clean and fair rural living. She grew up surrounded by tough people in the mountains and is a believer in principles, family, and work. Concepts such as sustainable education, circular economy, respect for the environment, and the protection of animals have been part of her life since the beginning of her business. Together with her husband, she founded the Ultzama Foundation, which educates, advocates, and leads in promoting sustainable tourism, sharing the costumes of rural areas, rescuing animals on farms, and employing people at social risk, especially women who are victims of violence and disabilities. She has won awards in state contests “Challenge to the Rural Women” with Project Caracol, which aims to transform farms with global standards related to slow food.
Dr. Marta de Carvalho Rodrigues is a lawyer in the Wwth office in Lisbon. She holds a Doctorate in Law from the International University of Lisbon. A Portuguese immigrant from Mozambique and mother of three children, she is a founding member of AVA (Associação a Vida Ama-me) and an endorser of Lily-Mor of the Blue Lily Movement. She has organized various high-level conferences on peace, including the WFWP EUME Annual European Conference opened in the Senate Chamber of the Parliament of the Republic of Lisbon, and the European Conference for the Inauguration of AIPP - Association of Parliamentarians for Peace. She was a speaker at various conferences, including the national and European conferences at the Ukrainian Parliament in Kyiv, at the Angolan Conference in Camberg, Germany, and at the Embassy of Mozambique in partnership with OMM (Mozambican Women's Organization). She is also a co-organizer of the first virtual trainer course "Teachers for Peace" for Portuguese-speaking countries.
Mrs. Lilly Gundacker was born in Australia, where she worked as a laboratory assistant, before traveling to Europe and working as a nurse in Switzerland. In Canberra, she worked on the design of the new Parliament House, followed by two years of volunteer work in the United States. She now lives in Austria with her husband, where for 10 years she supported him as a traveling salesman and raised five sons, all of whom joined the Vienna Choir. In the Austrian labor market, she worked as a foreign correspondent, international secretarial database, and organizational assistant. Later, she started her own business as a communication trainer and was teaching communication for tourism in Kitzbuehel when she was offered a job by the United Nations. She worked for 10 years as a data assistant in the Information Management Section of the Nuclear Security Department of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Security Directorate. She then retired as an international civil servant and voluntary NGO representative. She is a passionate world changer, mentor and communication trainer.
Moderators
Mrs. Yumi Angolio Willett is the Global Women’s Peace Network (GWPN) National Assistant at the WFWP USA. She grew up in Kenya. After coming to the United States, she joined WFWP in 2021 and is glad for the opportunity to be part of a remarkable group of women peace leaders. Prior to working with GWPN, she worked for two years in South Korea after graduating from university. Her background in Computer Science and PeaceNGO studies allows her to dissect issues and streamline ways of doing things while also allowing her to challenge herself in any new environment. She is passionate about leaving a better and more peaceful world for the next generation.
