Written by Monica Weglarz
On September 7, the local Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) chapter in Brazil convened for its monthly meeting with the AMPM at its headquarters for Chá da Tarde - or afternoon tea. Among the forty participants at this meeting were politicians including Delegate Deputy Recalcati and Deputy Aroldo Martins.
The meeting focused upon raising awareness and calling for commitment to suicide prevention and improving mental health as part of the United Nation’s International September campaign. Ms. Jorgina Esparza presented on this topic emphasizing how crucial it truly is to foster discussions surrounding psychological first aid and to address the various stigmas and taboos surrounding mental health.
The event continued with Ms. Linete Leite speaking about the five love languages highlighting how critical communication is in fostering sustainable and healthy relationships between individuals. The important discussion embodied the very message that WFWP works to spread in advocating for individuals to gain strength from their connections with others.
Through engaging in positive and encouraging interactions, human beings learn to better respect and accept others despite disagreements and differences. In empowering one another, embracing forgiveness, and living by this logic of love, humanity can work together to amend its past shortcomings and work towards building a more peaceful and positive world.
