Written by Monica Weglarz
On October 12, the local Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) chapter in Brazil convened for its monthly meeting with the AMPM at its headquarters for Chá da Tarde - or afternoon tea.
At this meeting, the 43participants fixated their discussion around suicide prevention and the need for a focus on world mental health. The chapter hoped to foster discussion about this significant issue in an effort to echo the informational September campaign of engaging the general public in education about suicide and its warning signs.
Pastor Célia Zaduski welcomed all of the participants with a presentation on the organization and its mission that is prevalent in its international work. The meeting then transitioned into a presentation from the Center of Violence and Recovery (CVV), an organization that actively works on providing research and solutions that advance healing after traumatic and painful experiences. Moreover, the CVV also educates through conducting various trainings, addresses from experts, and workshops on these issues.
The coordinator of the CVV disclosure committee presented at this event on the theme of “Is talking the best solution?” and facilitated an important conversation surrounding this topic.
