On November 24, 2023, WFWPI opened its doors to provide a unique opportunity to connect with leaders and members of WFWPI from across the globe. The special event was designed to foster a deeper understanding of the organization, its activities, and the remarkable projects taking place in diverse regions and nations.
The speaker was Dr. Zoe Bennett, President of WFWP Middle East and North Africa, President of WFWP Cyprus, Ph.D. Korean Literature and Folklore and born in Greece. She has visited the Far East, Eurasia, North America, several European countries and the Middle East. She has worked in educational and humanitarian work in Cyprus and the Middle East for 11 years and organized the "Women's Conference for Peace in the Middle East" for 28 years. She is passionate about bringing peace and communication between communities and countries by opening avenues for people to get to know each other.
Thirty-five people from around the world gathered to listen to Dr. Bennett speak about the recent situation in the Middle East and to introduce WFWP's approach to supporting families, especially women and children, during this difficult time. Many participants were amazed at the years of hard work and dedication to developing the lives of people in countries where conflict and danger persist. It was also a time that encouraged many to never give up in the face of difficulties and obstacles and to enjoy moments with their families and loved ones. Dr. Bennett also highlighted some of WFWP's activities that have resulted in tangible outcomes of cooperation and reconciliation among women and mothers in conflict countries in order to create a peaceful and safe environment for their children and future generations.
