Environmental Awareness and Call to Action

On June 27, 2023, WFWP Burkina Faso carried out its most recent tree planting project. This activity was carried out in Dapelgo with the grant from WFWPI's Giving for Good International project. Dapelgo is 35 km outside of Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso. This town has many Ambassadors for Peace and many activities for the renewal of the family have been carried out in the town. 

This time, the tree planting activity was carried out around the Mayor’s office. The Mayor of Dapelgo was represented by Mr. Kadio Joseph Claver. Also present was the Secretary General of the town, Mr. Guira Salif and a number of Ambassadors for Peace. WFWP Burkina Faso members also participated in the tree planting project. 

The President of WFWP Burkina Faso introduced her team and the vision of WFWP in Burkina Faso, which can be summarized as empowering the family, empowering the young people with the focus on the girl child, environmental awareness and call to action, and forwarding the Mother’s Heart Peace Network.

A total of 50 plants were donated to this town; 10 mango plants, 10 banana plants, 10 orange plants, 10 guava plants, and 10 tangerine plants. The residents promised to take good care of the plants and whenever they can, they would add more in order to participate in the campaign to make Burkina Faso green as well as provide lots of fruits for future generations.

The Mayor and the people of Dapelgo were very happy. They expressed their gratitude to the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and to WFWP Burkina Faso for choosing their town for such promising activities. They look forward to further collaborations with WFWP Burkina Faso.

WFWP Burkina Faso has the vision of making Burkina Faso green through sensitization and encouragement of people to plant and take care of trees. Though we have only one planting season per year, we hope to do this every year.
