Food Baskets Distributed During International Women’s Day (WFWP Fiji)

It was indeed a feeling of fulfillment to see the recipients brimming with joy as they received some necessities delivered in a box at their doorsteps.
This year during the International Women’s Day celebrations, Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Fiji distributed 25 food baskets to the needy. The 25-households consisted mainly of those who resided in impoverished conditions with very low or no income and some who were physically challenged. A bag of toiletries and hygiene items were also handed over to those needing a greater extent of healthcare.
Each food basket consisted of the most basic food items that could keep a family going for a week during these difficult times. The grocery items would allow the recipients to at least plan their meals for the next few days. WFWP through this humanitarian aid project ensured these needy families had food on the table and helped ease their woes.
Below are pictures of food baskets handed over by WFWP sisters to the recipients.
