In the Name of Mother and Daughter (WFWP Malta)
Written by: Myrabelle Corlett
On the morning of October 24, a young Maltese artist named Ms. Nik Keter was invited by WFWP Malta to give a talk about her paintings titled, “In the Name of the Mother and the Daughter.”
Ms. Keter started by reassuring the audience that she is not the creator of her paintings but simply an instrument, a tool in the toolbox of the Creator. It was truly touching to see a young and faithful woman, give credit to the Creator for her talents, instead of taking the glory for her own self.
Ms. Keter spoke enthusiastically about the topic of the Divine Origin and Eternal Bond that exists between mother and daughter. She explained how she gets her inspirations for painting mostly from the vibrant colors of nature through the seasons and through meditation. As she spoke, she assertively galloped forward with the strongest of convictions, shedding new light on the feminine, maternal aspect of the Creator. This, she passionately explained, is the striking character, expressed in all of her paintings.
One thing is certain, Ms. Keter was able to keep the audience captivated by her youthful, yet mature understanding of the nature of a filial daughter in relation to the mother's instinctive, ever protective, unfailing, parental love. WFWP Malta was pleased to host Ms. Keter, as her depiction between a mother and daughter truly resonated with the mission of WFWPI and the role the family plays in creating peace in the world. WFWP Malta hopes to continue empowering women as peacebuilders and leaders in the family to transform the community, nation and world.
