Lectures on Moral Education at Moscow Social College

On March 23, 2023, the Women’s Federation for World Peace Russia held a lecture on moral education on the topic, “The Consequences of Using Obscene Words” at the cultural house of one Moscow College.” Though originally only 20 students had registered for the lecture, 35 came to listen to it. It was surprising because they all came out of their own will and were not pushed by their teachers. It was already 5 p.m. and it was not part of their studying program. 

The atmosphere at the lecture was amazingly warm but focused. The students were very attentive and actively answered the questions of the lecturer. The college worker who was responsible for the lecture said that she was impressed because almost none of the students were looking at their phones during the lecture.

After the lecture, the students wrote their reflections and some of them moved the team to tears. Many of them wrote that they felt ashamed during the lecture because they had been using bad words in their life and because of the lecture they decided to do their best to change for the better. Some of them wrote that they don’t want to be part of the crowd but want to become a strong personality.

Here are some of the reflections: 

“After this lecture I started thinking if it’s possible to influence the environment. And it seems that it is really possible. But first of all we need to start with ourselves. I am using bad words in my life but I have realized that I need to change! Thank you for the lecture!”

“I was really moved by the positive attitude with which you gave lectures. I could learn a lot and it was really interesting. This lecture inspired me to change my opinion.”

“During the lecture I felt ashamed because I had been using obscene words. I started thinking deeply about my life.”

“I want to grow as a person. I want to change for better and not for worse. And I want to follow the example of the lecturer. I will do my best to get rid of bad words in my speech. I want to be a personality and not part of the herd.”

“The most important thing that I realized during the lecture was that we need to do our best for future generations. Your talk has really influenced me.”

The most pleasant thing was that the students asked WFWP Russia to come again to give lectures on some other topics.
