Mozambique - Sun of Mozambique Secondary (Junior and Senior High) School
Though Mozambique is on the road to recovery from the Civil War ended in 1992, the shortage of schools nationwide is still a serious problem. WFWP opened junior and senior high schools in 1995 in Beira which are renowned for the quality of university graduate teachers, the high percentage of students who pass the graduation exams, and the large number of graduates who enroll in universities. Many graduates have been selected as government-sponsored students to study abroad. In 2008, the Ministry of Education of Mozambique acknowledged the school as the highest-ranking private school in terms of its stable management and excellent educational results. The school library holds more than 8,800 books, including textbooks, reference books, and dictionaries to help the students develop their academic competency.
New Developments:
Two graduates entered a university in Russia and 2 graduates entered a university in Brazil as government-sponsored foreign students.
H. E. Toshio Ikeda, Ambassador of Japan to Mozambique, visited the school in 2018.
The graduation exam pass rate for 10th grade was 87%, that for 12th grade was 96%, the highest in the past 5 years.
Sixth and seventh medical doctors emerged among the graduates.
