Program on Elderly People Day

At the beginning of October, the WFWP Russia held several programs for the International Day of Elderly People.
WFWP Russia invited several schools and a kindergarten to join their program “From Heart to Heart” during which children together with their teachers and parents made beautiful congratulatory cards for the elderly. The cards were not only wonderful externally but contained warm and loving greetings and wishes from the children. The elderly recipients were moved when they read the children’s messages to them.
The children’s singing and dancing ensemble created by WFWP, the “Angles of Peace,” gave concerts at two elderly homes. Some of the homes invited the Angels of Peace themselves because they had been deeply moved by their performance last year.
Thechildren sang and danced and it was pleasant to see how happy the elderly people were. Old and young were singing together and applauding. Some of the residents wanted to give something back to children, bringing fruit, making cakes to give to each child, and some presenting their favorite potted flower to the ensemble.
One 100-year-old veteran told the children that it was such a joy for them to see the children’s performance. She told them that when she passes to the spiritual world, if the children just say “Grandma, please, help!” and she would surely come to help them.
The Eurasia region is still going through a very painful and challenging time. We believe that each good deed is one more small step towards peace and a foundation for God’s love to be spread in this world. WFWP Russia believes it is crucial to teach children good moral values and to give them more opportunities to experience being helpful and to live for the sake of others.
