Mother's Day Celebrated with Intercultural Festival in Moscow

On November 28, 2015 WFWP Russia, in cooperation with Universal Peace Federation (UPF), held an Intercultural Festival in celebration of Mother's Day at the Moscow Peace Embassy with the theme "Children are Angels of Peace." The festival brought together guests and children of all ages and cultures to focus on peace making and service projects.

Many guests of WFWP and UPF, representatives of several NGO's and children's ensembles of different nationalities took part in this event. Children from Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia and Azerbaijan gave beautiful performances of song and dance. Everybody was moved to tears by the performance of a group of disabled children.

WFWP Russia gave the Youth Peace Award to the special children and children's ensembles who have been taking part in many peace making and charity projects over the years.

The celebration included recognizing the 7th anniversary of WFWP Russia's children's dance ensemble, Angels of Peace. The Angels of Peace have performed all over the world, spreading a message of peaceful international cooperation through their exquisite cultural artistry.

The winners of WFWP Russia's annual Intercultural Family Contest "Family World" were announced. The purpose of the contest is to promote strong family values.

The festival was lauded as a great success. One of the organizer's described the festival as a great way to bring people together and promote a real culture of heart and peace. WFWP Russia hopes to continue the festival every year.
