Wadiseer Bazaar (WFWP Jordan)

Where there's a will there's a way.
This proverb means that if someone is determined to do something, he/she will find a way to accomplish it regardless of obstacles. This acts as a pillar to accomplish anything in life. One needs true heart motivation and continuous effort in the right direction to make our dreams meet reality and reach achievement in life.
This is describing Fusayo Irikura and her group of women in Jordan, who turned the dreams of many people into reality, under the banner of WFWP. Mrs. Irikura started off by building a small cultural center in Wadi As-Seir, the west district of Amman (capital of Jordan). This building then became an epicenter of hope for the local community, empowering women by making a positive impact on their families and economic welfare, as well as securing women's livelihoods and rights.
On July 13, the Wadi As-Seir center organized a wonderful bazaar despite the COVID-19 situation, thanks to five WFWP core members who have been working together since 2003. The unity of these women became the main source of their happy and successful activities. Despite different tribulations, including three years of center closure, these women have never stopped serving people! The re-opening of the Wadiseer center in July 2019, had encouraged new projects, along with many ongoing courses for locals, reinforcing talents and raising awareness about their needs.
A special word of gratitude goes out to Mrs. Yusra. Since 2003, she has been very active in taking care of the WFWP center. Mrs.Yusra has been very happy conducting WFWP activities and succeeded in empowering herself and helping people. The key point to success is unity with her husband and unity with the members of the core team. In her own words, she explains: “Without my husband’s support, I would not be able to continue to participate and be active.” The courage of these women breaking barriers and elevating life in a Muslim society is so inspiring. It proves that each of us can take a step toward a better life.
