WFWP Bangladesh Celebrates the International Day of Families
On May 28, the members of WFWP Bangladesh gathered to celebrate the International Day of Families. The program consisted of three components:
1. Seminar celebrating international Family day titled “Challenges Of Current Day Family Bonding"
2. Acknowledging and awarding our member and Project Head of Nutrition Project, Dr. Hasina
3. Offered a Memorium and floral prayer for Katsumi Date, the person who helped establish
WFWP Bangladesh.
President of WFWP Bangledesh, Mehreen, welcomed everyone and invited Mrs. Shaheda Hosain Tukkhi to present a keynote on the seminar topic. A vibrant, informative and enjoyable keynote speech was presented. The floor was open for discussion. A lot of points that were there in the past and not practiced anymore came up. It was imperative that values must be maintained to keep a good family.
Next, the introduction on Dr. Hasina was presented by President Mehreen; WFWP Bangladesh Secretary General, Shireen Rahman; Treasurer, Parveen and the award was presented to her daughter Mollika. We were able to hear about the dedicated Dr. Hasina from her daughter as she spoke about her inspirational life. We came to know how a diplomat’s wife did not give in to luxury and served her community as a social worker. It is an honor for WFWP Bangladesh to have Dr. Hasina.
Lastly, the Life of Katsumi Date was read out by Limu. We paid our floral respect to his departed soul.
The program culminated and food was served and group photos were taken. Informal discussions of future works were made. The day ended on a superbly happy note.
