As part of the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) 30th Anniversary Celebration, WFWP Burkina Faso organized a conference under the theme “The Role of Women in the Quest of a Peaceful and Unified World” which was held on April 9, 2022, in Ouagadougou with the participation of more than 250 people.
The main conference was given by Mrs. Aimée Kabore, WFWP Burkina Faso National President, and was centered on the role of women, based on the Co-founder of WFWPI, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s memoir “the mother builds the family and the family builds the world.”
One of our first Peace Ambassadors, Mrs. Blanche Sawadogo, shared her testimony concerning her attendance at WFWP’s first congress held in 1992 in Seoul Korea. What she kept as a souvenir from that occasion was the spark to change, which was inspired by the Co-founders of WFWPI, whom she referred to as “visionaries.” Mrs. Sawadogo said peace must come from families and because women are the center of the family; it is only logical that peace must come from women.
The attendees had the chance to view some of our WFWP activities since 1992, until now which were presented by Mrs. Ye Jun Nonguierma, WFWP Burkina Vice President. Mrs. Jacqueline Sou, the northern Africa Subregional leader also spoke passionately about Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, known affectionately as Mother Moon. She encouraged the audience to read the Mother Of Peace memoir to learn how to build a world of peace.
We proceeded to eat cake and enjoy entertainment by the New Hope Musical Group before announcing the nomination of new Ambassadors for Peace. A total of 35 women became Ambassadors for Peace on this day. One of the newly nominated ambassadors expressed her gratitude to the WFWP on behalf of all and wished success and prosperity to WFWP for years to come.
