Ambassadors for Peace Gathering
Written by: Lilly Tadin
Inspired by the beauty of autumn, the President of WFWP Canada hosted a luncheon for cherished Ambassadors for Peace (AFPs) to reconnect and discuss the pressing challenges facing families, society, and the world. The aim was to explore ways to create a greater impact on society by strengthening their collaboration.
On Saturday, October 5th, about 14 guests gathered at Clearstone Lodge, including 10 AFPs and two couples who are close friends of WFWP. Most attendees traveled over two hours to reach the serene venue, and they were captivated by the tranquility and natural beauty of Clearstone. In addition to the meeting, guests enjoyed a walk to the lake, basking in the warmth of the sunshine and fresh lake air.
Over lunch, attendees engaged in meaningful conversations, sharing insights and activities with one another. Mrs. Lilly Tadin, President of WFWP Canada, spoke about Clearstone’s historical significance as established by WFWP’s founders and reminded AFPs of the five peacemaking principles to guide their future endeavors.
The theme, “Ambassadors for Peace: Creating a Positive Impact in the World,” set the tone for a powerful presentation. Through a PowerPoint, attendees reflected on the founders' historic peacemaking missions to the Former USSR with President Gorbachev and to North Korea with President Kim Il Sung, showing that peace between former adversaries is indeed possible.
This presentation sparked further discussion on achieving peace in our time through more effective collaboration, with the dialogue continuing for several hours. Inspired by the experience, many AFPs expressed an interest in attending similar gatherings in the future.
Special thanks were extended to Rev. Ryan Abenir and Edmond Young for their support in organizing this meaningful event.
