Award Ceremony for Color My Heart With Peace (WFWP Thailand)
WFWP Thailand held an awards event for the winners of the 16th Color My Heart With Peace Drawing art contest on the occasion of International Children’s Day on March 26, 2022.
Color My Heart with Peace is an art contest that encourages the youth’s creativity. The first event started in November 2004, on the occasion of International Children's Day and this tradition had continued for 16 years. More than 12,000 people participated in Color My Heart with Peace and there are a total of 235 youth winners from the art contest as of today.
This project aims to be a platform for children to express their thoughts, initiatives and creativity. Art encourages children to express themselves beyond the boundaries of skills learned in schools. In addition, the creativity of youth is especially highlighted in these contests. Art not only also helps to build confidence but can give a sense of fulfillment to young artists who give others joy with what they create.
The drawing contest was divided into two age groups: children between 4-6 years old and 7-10 years old. This year, the submission contest was held displaying video recordings of the art being drawn and the contest awarded 15 winners from the two age groups.
The award ceremony began with Opening Remarks by Mrs. Kamolthip Payakvichian, President of WFWP Thailand. Congratulatory Remarks were given by Mrs. Yumiko Dunkley, Advisor of WFWP Asia 1 and inspirational art performances were shown by six professional artists in Thailand. The event came to an end with the Closing Remarks by Mrs. Vipa Thaweepongsakul, Vice President of WFWP Asia 1. A total of 150 participants joined from around the world.
