Connecting with WFWP Leaders Around the World: Insights from Dr. Susan Kone

On May 24, the Women’s Federation for World Peace International (WFWPI) hosted a special event titled "Connecting with WFWP Leaders Around the World," featuring Dr. Susan Kone as the distinguished speaker. The virtual gathering provided a unique opportunity for participants to engage directly with WFWP leaders and members from across the globe and gain valuable insights into the organization's initiatives and impactful projects.
Dr. Susan Kone, a certified mediator and social worker, embodies a passion for fostering positive change, particularly in the lives of women and families. Currently serving as President of WFWP Kenya and International Vice-President of WFWP Africa, Dr. Kone is dedicated to women's leadership development, empowerment projects and promoting peacebuilding and reconciliation efforts. Her advocacy spans women's rights, gender equality, youth mentorship and initiatives promoting women's health and wellness, including teaching Unified Martial Arts for self-defense.
The event attracted a diverse audience of 50 participants globally, eager to learn about WFWP's activities and projects, particularly those spearheaded under Dr. Kone's leadership in Africa. She shed light on WFWP Africa's impactful projects, such as environmental and climate adaptation efforts, women's empowerment programs, youth education on character development and initiatives promoting family values. “Mother's Heart Peace Network” supports women in promoting peace and prosperity within their communities, emphasizing the pivotal role of women in fostering societal harmony. Finally, introduced in 2023, the membership program aims to enhance self-sufficiency and sustainability in development projects across the region, reflecting WFWP Africa's commitment to long-term community empowerment.
The interactive nature of the event facilitated meaningful dialogue and cross-cultural exchange among attendees. Participants expressed appreciation for Dr. Kone's comprehensive overview of WFWP Africa's initiatives and her inspiring leadership in advancing women's empowerment and peacebuilding efforts.
