Distribution of Meals to Vulnerable Children
Written by: WFWP Côte d'Ivoire
On June 19, 2021, The Mother’s Heart Peace Network, a project of Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Côte d'Ivoire, partnered with two non-governmental organizations: MINOGE and Ste Marie Des Pauvres Et Des Petits, to distribute meals and water to vulnerable children. The meals were distributed to children in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
A total of 250 children were able to benefit from the meals and were left happy with full stomachs. The children fed are mainly abandoned or orphaned children, who normally don’t have guaranteed rations of food in their homes. Food is not only nutrients for your body, but it is a source of love too. The children were filled with joy as they ate. Seeing these smiles is what makes these initiatives worth it. We hope to be able to distribute even more meals to more children.
WFWP Côte d'Ivoire focuses on raising their community up and they plan to hold a “Training Workshop” for the transformation of raw materials with women on September 18. In this workshop, women will learn how to transform Hibiscus flowers and ginger into a syrup that may be used to cook with or simply drink. This is a useful tool for mothers to be able to get creative with using the resources available at hand. We are looking forward to it!
