Faith Stories - Conversations and Storytelling (WFWP Australia)
Written By: Joan D'Abreo
Faith Stories is an annual event hosted by WFWP Victoria, to commemorate International Women’s Day by celebrating women and their faith. This year’s event was held on Saturday, March 6, at the Family Church in Belgrave. This year’s theme “Mystics” centered on mysticism and its relationship with love and humanity.
The event featured five speakers who presented their views on their faith and the different ways social cohesion and global peace could be engendered. As each speaker shared their personal faith journey, the audience was encouraged to reflect on their own faith journeys and determine pathways to creating a more peaceful and loving world.
On top of listening to various stories, the audience was invited to participate in a short session on meditation and visualization by Barbara Galloway, one of the key speakers. The purpose of this exercise was to enable participants to see themselves as part of the tapestry of co-creating heaven on Earth.
Feedback from the participants included their appreciation for the gifts of wisdom they were able to absorb from the stories they had heard. For many of them, this day was an opportunity to “journey deeper” and to continue to “work for the common good.”
