On October 27, 2021, members of Women’s Federation for World Peace Chile, held a virtual cultural meeting from Easter Island (Rapa Nui), where members, partners and ambassadors of WFWP from the province convened. On this occasion, the participants were able to learn and experience the magic and living culture of the island, through different expressions such as beautiful landscapes, archeological sites, environmental awareness, ancestral medicine, dancing and the enigmatic “Moai” monuments in honor of the ancestors.
The participants were from different parts of the world. In spite of the distance, they could be witnesses, through videos and slides, of the activities that the WFWP does from the navel of the world, seeking harmony and peace from the smallest things to the fundamental value of one global family.
Among the outstanding activities held during 2021, there was the award to long-lived marriages, centered on the values such as fidelity, compromise and love throughout the years, in different categories such as “Silver Jubilee” and “Golden Anniversary.”
One couple received compliments from the audience for their Emerald Wedding celebrating 52 years of love. On the occasion, the hosts of the event, Victor Ika and Rozimeire De Arruda, together with ambassadors from peace, also participated in a ceremony for the recommitment and renewal of their vows as husband and wife.
Among other activities developed this year, there was the tribute to outstanding people of old age, valuing their experience and love as a contribution to the community during their whole lives.
There was another meeting to celebrate the Day of the Grandparents, an occasion on which young people of the community participated in a video contest, recognizing the qualities of their grandparents, seeking to stimulate the heart of the society including the challenges that the world experiences nowadays, nurturing the hope of future generations.
