Moral Education Talks for Schoolchildren
Written by: Olga Vakulinskaya
On April 8, WFWP Russia held two talks at one of the public schools in the St. Petersburg region. In the first talk, there were 115 schoolchildren composed of grades 6 and 7. The topic was “Reality and Virtuality: Appreciate The Most Important Things in Life.” This talk addressed computer addiction but the main message was that we need to live in such a way that we won't regret.
The second talk was titled, “Preparation for Building Happy Families” and was attended by 137 schoolchildren from grades 8 and 9. We talked about the importance of true family values and the right preparation and attitude towards creating a family.
The children wrote very deep reflections:
“I was taught that losing true family values leads to the degradation of a nation”“Your presentation today changed my opinion about a family. I was moved that you explained true love based on a real example of the family."
“It was important for me to hear that True love exists and it is possible for it to last.”
“Honestly speaking I already knew that it is very important to keep purity before marriage. But I am grateful that you could tell this to other students."
“I could remember that what we achieve in real life is much more important than any results on a computer. It is terrible when life is wasted.”
“I could realize that we need to take care more of our parents and siblings. Addiction can deprive you of those things which you could achieve without it.”
“I could remember the quote from the book that was used in the lecture that when you come to the end of your life you might realize that you could have achieved much more and could have become a better person but you didn’t”
