WFWP Paraguay Celebrates Women’s Day

On February 28, WFWP Paraguay celebrated the Paraguayan Women’s Day. This also marked the beginning of 2020 activities.
The event started with songs from CARP band, D´cappo. After the performances, MC WFWP Vice-president, Mrs. Tania Acosta welcomed the guests to the event.
Singer, songwriter, and Peace Ambassador, Mrs. Margarita Franco delighted the audience with some of her inspiring songs about the Paraguayan Women. She was accompanied by the beautiful dancers of Victoria Institute of Prof. and Peace Ambassador Lidia Gimenez.
Mrs. Roswitha Giuliano, WFWP Paraguay President, then gave a presentation about the Founding, Mission, Purpose, and Plan of WFWP. She highlighted the importance of participating in future WFWP seminars in order to understand more deeply its purpose and mission.
Prof. Lidia Gimenez presented her new book, From Gimenez to Gimenez, about her Grandfather and composer, Remberto Gimenez. His great musical works include the National Hymn of Paraguay. The book already is declared as the National Cultural Interest in Paraguay.
Following the presentation, Dr. Yoshiko Kamiyama gave a report about her work this year in Paraguay which included treating patients in the area of Alto Paraguay and the making of natural medicine from Neem trees of Puerto Leda.
Then Certificates of Appreciation were given to Prof. Lidia Gimenez and the cast of her Arts School.
The event ended with more beautiful dances, raffles and music. The organizers also gave a special “thank you” to all those who made the event possible.
