WFWP Ukraine Organizes Project to Help Displaced Families

In the context of social protection and support of vulnerable groups in Ukraine, WFWP Ukraine has been taking care of internally displaced families, people who were in the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone (ATO), and people with special needs.

Together with their long-time partner, Humanitarian HQ of the NGO "All-Ukrainian Organization for Internally Displaced People," they helped solve the financial issues of renting an apartment for the Ageev family, an internally displaced family with four sons. They were also one of the first included in the humanitarian aid program. There are four boys in the family who constantly are in need of clothes and shoes.

Aid was provided to three more families who are either Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) or who have children with special needs.

In addition, WFWP sent women for free ultrasounds with the support of the Kyiv City Council Deputy, Konstantin Yalovy. They also received clothing and food kits as humanitarian aid.

To help families affected by the anti-terrorist operation in Eastern Ukraine, WFWP provided support to Lyudmila Zhdan, the widow of an anti-terrorist operation participant. She now raises two grandchildren left without parents. Project coordinator, Natalia Ilyina, met with Lyudmila and provided assistance to her children. The woman was also invited to WFWP Ukraine events and trainings for further support.

There was also a meeting with volunteer Milanika. She is a single woman who volunteered for three years in the anti-terrorist operation. At the moment, she is under treatment at a military hospital in Kyiv Oblast. WFWP Ukraine provided assistance which included psychological trainings, and invited her to other local activities for support.
