On Saturday, June 11, 2021, WFWP Africa launched 40 days of devotion titled, "Prayers for Peace." From June 11 to July 20, 2021 WFWP Africa made a collective decision to pray for peace and stability in the African region as various countries are currently in turmoil.

Mrs. Maria Kadima, from the Family Federation for World Peace Africa Region, gave a moving inspirational message, reminding the participants that each one truly carries the power to make a difference. Next, Mrs. Susan Kone, WFWP International Vice President of Africa, offered words of encouragement to kickstart the 40 days of prayers.

There have been heartbreaking news at the start of June from Africa, such as the massacre led by the rebels in Burkina Faso, a coup ‘d'etat in Mali, and thousands of people were displaced in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, among others.

Africa is blessed with rich natural resources and beautiful land, however with the current situation of continuous war, conflict and rising crimes, the hope for peace and stability remains only a dream.

This is why the mothers of Africa decided to come together to safeguard and nurture God’s blessing and offer 40 days of prayer for peace and stability of the African continent. WFWP Africa and their network of African mothers strongly feel that it is indeed their responsibility to ensure that the generations to come will live in a peaceful and conducive environment. Over 80 participants gathered via Zoom and offered heartfelt prayers for peace in Africa.
