Workshop of Dialogue Between Italy and Russia (WFWP Italy)

On December 7, a “Workshop of Dialogue Between Italy and Russia: Contribution of the Third Sector for a Fair and Solidarity Development” was held at the Russian Cultural Center and WFWP Italy was invited to speak. WFWP Italy worked closely with Mr. Marco Ricceri, Secretary-General of Eurispes, as well as an Ambassador of Peace, to help contribute to this event.

This was a wonderful opportunity to introduce WFWP’s purpose and activities to other NGOs and create new relationships and friendships.

The purpose of the workshop led by Mr. Ricceri was to help the Russian Delegation to understand the work of NGOs in Italy through an open dialogue between the participants. It was a precious opportunity to listen to the experiences of other NGOs and to discover how much Italy is recognized and well appreciated internationally for the valuable work of voluntary organizations. President of WFWP Italy, Elisabetta Nistri, was invited to present about WFWP and their chapter’s recently implemented activities.

In her speech, Mrs. Nistri reported that WFWP’s presence at the United Nations, helped them to understand that oftentimes, the leaders of nations do not know the needs of their country as well as the NGOs do. NGOs working on the territory in direct contact with the people, understand the actual needs of the people and the country and many times with their service, manage to bring valuable contributions. For this reason, WFWP believes in the value of networking and promoting important collaborations between women and women's organizations, instilled in the belief that in the end, everyone wishes to live in peace and NGOs could work together to support those values universally. Ms. Nistri added that the path to world peace would be realized much sooner if we are able to do so.
